The End Times: Victorious Eschatology or Tribulation

PDF Link:  http://www.ephesians611.com/documents/VictoriousEschatologyorTribulation.pdf The End Times: Victorious Eschatology or Tribulation Teaching His disciples how to pray, Jesus uses the words “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”(Matthew 6:10). Proponents of Dominionism put a spin on this verse as they teach that we are to establish dominion over the earth prior to Christ coming back; but scripture teaches that Jesus will establish His Kingdom upon His return and we are only to pray. C. Peter Wagner who is a very influential leader in the Charismatic movement states the following: “My basic premise is

Universal Submission – A Woman Rides the Beast

Revelation 17:1-3 KJV (1)  … I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (2)  With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (3)  So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and

Fallen Angels and Nephelim

While there are many Bible scholars as well as Christians that would consider fallen angels mating with human women creating nephelim to be a fringe topic that appears to sound like mythology combined with science fiction, I believe understanding this is very key to understanding the “why’s” in the Bible that appear to be extremely harsh and final judgements from God. There is an abundance of evidence to show that a global flood happened, but why did it happen? It has to be more than people behaving badly as there are tyrants, war, violence, genocide and perversion all throughout

Another Gospel?

Recently one prominent Emergent Church leader came out with a video proclaiming that Jesus death and resurrection was just a retelling of the many myths of dying and rising gods such as Mithras and Dionysus. Although many apologists have debunked this claim made popular by the Zeitgeist film, this popular leader still proclaimed it for the sake of being a universalist. At the end of his video, he proclaims that “we are the gospel”. This is gnosticism, the idea that we all have an inner-divine spirit. It’s played out in many movies, most blatantly in the Matrix trilogy. A

Day of the Lord

The Day of the Lord is mentioned 20 times in 8 Old Testament books. Luke quotes Joel in Acts 2:20, Paul refers to it in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 and Peter mentions it. The big question to look into is whether the Day of the Lord is one single day or a period of time. A key verse in this appears to be Acts 2:20 which quotes Joel 2:31 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: “Before” appears to be a key word meaning

Problems with Post Trib Rapture

Views on when the rapture will take place is not a salvation issue, so in most cases we can agree to disagree. There are respectable scholars that disagree. That being said, there are some very key issues that you have when taking a post-tribulational viewpoint. The first is a mis-understanding of who the Church is and who Israel is. We currently are nearing the end of the dispensation of Grace. This is where there is neither Jew nor Gentile (Galations 3:28). All have access to God through Jesus. When we accept Jesus as savior, we’re in the Church. The

Salvation vs Inheritance

The thing to remember about crowns is that it doesn’t affect your salvation.  You can not “work” your way into salvation.  Other than Christianity which states that salvation comes through Jesus alone, all other religions are based on “works”.  You have to do a variety of rituals, prayers, adhere to pillars that the faith in question is made up from.  Islam has it’s 5 pillars, Catholicism requires you to continually take the Mass and pray to the saints, even atheists judge you  on whether you’re a “good” person.  Good by the ever changing standard of what good is based on

Timing of the Rapture

The key to your position on the rapture shouldn’t be based on only one passage of scripture, it should be based on the Whole Counsel of God.  If you base it on only one passage, such as making a case that the 24 elders represent the Church, that passage can be attacked by those who feel that they don’t represent the Church for whichever reason. If you use only 1 Thessalonian’s 4:17  which states: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and

Which of the Seven Churches are Applicable to us

The letters to the seven churches apply to everybody as in each of the letters, the line is included:  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (Rev 3:22) There are elements of all of the churches in the age we’re currently living in.  There are churches good on doctrine, but have lost their first love (Ephesus).  There are persecuted churches (Smyrna), churches married to the world (Pergamum), churches filled with idolatry (Thyatria), churches dead in Christ (Sardis), churches focused on being a good ambassador and sharing Christ (Philadelphia) and finally churches

Letters to Seven Churches

There are 3 levels to the study on the letters to the 7 churches. The first level applies to the real churches that were in existence during the writing of these letters. The second level is how the churches apply prophetically to the history of the Church. This starts with the letter to Ephesus being the Apostolic church in the first century and the letter to Laodicea being the luke warm church at the end of the church age. I love learning the history of the Church as this is not generally taught in a typical church sermon. I

Allegorical Interpretation

An allegorical hermeneutic does not bring forth Godly fruit. When you view what the Bible says as allegory, you are in a sense creating a license to invent what the Bible says. This usually happens when looking at the creation story in Genesis. Since all schools and the media promote evolution as fact and vilify anybody that doesn’t agree with evolution, many Christians look at the first 11 chapters of Genesis as allegory. This is not based on anything the Bible says, but what secularists who don’t believe in God say. The problem is that many times in the

Jezebel Spirit

After Ephesus, the Apostolic church which was great on doctrine, but lost it’s first love came Smyrna, the persecuted church. Through this persecution, nothing bad was said in the letter. Pergamos married the world by adopting idols, customs and practices that were happening in the era. The persecution stopped because these practices were adopted and blended into Christianty. This brought forth Thyatira which is the medieval church. The thing that stands out in this letter is Jezebel. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and

Laodecia and the Modern Church

Between the 69th and 70th Week

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. Dan 9:25 (KJV) This is a very specific prophecy that has a start point and an end point. The weeks referred to in this prophecy are weeks of years. The start point is the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem. This was the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus that was given on March 14,
