Charismatic Worship – Heaven on Earth?

Charismatic Worship – Heaven on Earth? Charismatic churches teach that music/sound is used to not only praise God, but as a means of connecting to the supernatural and bringing heaven to earth, however scripture teaches that we are simply to sing praises to God with gratitude in our hearts. Corporate singing has evolved from churches singing songs that have depth of theology in lyrics to simplistic repetitive phrases built around amateur rock bands, lights and performance. While there are variations on this scale, even a casual observer will be able to notice a difference in corporate worship in many

I620 – Jesuits Islam Globalists

Islam (definition: submission) is currently the fastest growing religion in the world and at the current rate of expansion it will be 26% of the world population by 2030. However, Islam is not only another way to worship a deity but a complete political ideology that encompass every area of life through Sharia Law. Islam plays a central role in Biblical eschatology as all of the specific nations that come against Israel are Muslim nations. Joel Richardson in his books: “Islamic Antichrist” and “Mideast Beast” presents a solid case that Islam is the final world empire from which the

Revelation 17:1-3 KJV (1)  … I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (2)  With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. 1945 and the Generation of a King – Lisa Richards

1945 and the Generation of a King By Lisa Richards The year 1945 witnessed two pivotal occasions. World War II ended with the surrender of Nazi Germany on May 8 followed by the Japanese on August 15. Flushed with victory America was newly crowned as a global super power. The year 2015 will be the seventieth anniversary marking the end of WWII. For many this war has become a mere historical event of the past. In fact, the generation that witnessed the horrors of this war, who sacrificed their lives and fortunes to bring freedom to others is quickly

The Trumpet of Pentecost – by Lisa Richards

The Trumpet of Pentecost By Lisa Richards The first Pentecost occurred following the nation of Israel’s exodus from Egypt. They came to the foot of Mt. Sinai where God instructed Moses to consecrate the people and have them wash their clothes. Then at the sound of the trumpet they were to approach the mountain. This is significant because this is also the first time the word trumpet is mentioned in the Bible. “When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.” – Exodus 19:13. Therefore this is the first divine trump heard by God’s people as the

Talmidim 2014 Sderot

In Sderot, we worked with Hands of Mercy to fill 160 boxes with food.  Sderot is only a few km away from Gaza and have had thousands of rocket attacks since Israel pulled out of Gaza:,_2013. Sderot is currently the “bomb shelter capitol of the world”: In addition to working in Sderot, we were able to head to overlook Gaza and pray for peace in Israel on both the northern Syria\Lebanon border from Mt. Bental and near the Gaza border. So run, that ye may obtain. 1 Cor 9:24 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith 2 Tim 4:7 If you’re in an athletic competition of any sort and you decide to stop trying, you won’t win.  Athletic movies can be heartwarming and motivating.  The story usually begins with an underdog who has a heart for the sport and has to overcome a number of obstacles to get his team to the championship

Tattoos and the Bible

Tattoos are becoming increasingly trendy in popular culture and the problem occurs when Christians want to place the label “Christian” on a secular trend.  You can see this in the music community with Christian “death metal”, a heavy metal sub-genre that is primary focused on death and the occult.  Lyrics are screamed in a guttural growl over intense rhythm and little if any melody.   Death and Christianity are opposite, it’s an oxymoron, a figure of speech that has contradictory terms.  This can be applied to “Christian Yoga”.  Yoga is Hindu meditative practice with positions and stretches to awaken

Greatest Mystery

There are a number of mysteries in the Bible which are fun and interesting to track down and speculate on.  One mystery however stands alone in it’s importance and that’s the Mystery of the Gospel. Ephesians 3  2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,1 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known

Salvation vs Inheritance

The thing to remember about crowns is that it doesn’t affect your salvation.  You can not “work” your way into salvation.  Other than Christianity which states that salvation comes through Jesus alone, all other religions are based on “works”.  You have to do a variety of rituals, prayers, adhere to pillars that the faith in question is made up from.  Islam has it’s 5 pillars, Catholicism requires you to continually take the Mass and pray to the saints, even atheists judge you  on whether you’re a “good” person.  Good by the ever changing standard of what good is based on

Women Pastors

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 1 Tim 2:12-13 (KJV) First of all, this passage is not based on whether or not a woman is more knowledgeable on the Bible than a man. There are a number of women more Biblically literate than many pastors leading churches. This is not based on how capable a woman is to lead the church in an administrative sense. Some women excel in high positions in government and business as

Response to Slander

Our culture is filled with slander in everything from false reports on celebrities in any gossip magazine at your local grocery store, the abundance of reality TV where participants slander their fellow players in “private” conversations all recorded by the cameraman. The news is filled with slander, particularly in this election season where both parties slander each other. What ever happened to debating the issues? All of this slander done publicly makes it seem almost normal to slander our co-workers and acquaintances. According to the dictionary, slander is: a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report. If you’ve ever

Is Your Destiny Predetermined – Calvinsm vs Arminism

This subject depends on what is meant by “predetermined”. The Calvinist idea of “predestined” is based on their 5 points or TULIP acronym. Total Depravity (also known as Total Inability and Original Sin) Unconditional Election Limited Atonement (also known as Particular Atonement) Irresistible Grace Perseverance of the Saints (also known as Once Saved Always Saved) While there are some Calvinist speakers that I respect and even like what they say on certain issues, Calvinism paints a very unloving picture of God. In the Calvinist mindset, everybody is totally depraved and can’t even seek out God without God first calling

Philosophy – Who’s Correct

8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Col 2:8 (KJV) When it comes to philosophy, you will see philosophers argue whose philosophy is best. When it comes right down to it, without a standard of absolute truth, it’s just one opinion against another and the loudest more forceful voice will try and win. This is generally done through combined logical fallacies of creating a straw man of your opponents view so you can tear it down as well as

Gnosticism in the Modern Church

Gnosticism comes from the Greek word “gnosis”. This is the Greek noun for knowledge. When “gnosis” is referred to in the English language, it is generally referred to regarding mysticism and the mystery religions. Within this religious idea, it means mystical enlightenment. Freemasonry is predicated on the idea of elevated knowledge. The gnostics believe that in a sense you can become your own god through this enlightenment. It emphasizes experience over the written word of the Bible or any other text. Many occult sects subscribe to this belief. Gnosticism is creeping back into popular Christianity with various trends that

Expositional Consistancy

“Expositional constancy” is a term used to convey to us that the use of symbolism and idioms in Scripture is consistent. The meaning of the word is most often defined by the first use in the Bible, which is another term of Biblical interpretation called “Law of First Mention. This definition remains consistent through-out the Bible. A good way to apply this principal to your hermeneutics is to see how a word or idiom in the passage you’re studying is defined and used through- out the Bible and apply that definition to the current passage. An example is Matthew

Modern vs Mosaic Judiasm

The Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah prior to the crucifixion. After this rejection, Jesus began to speak to the Jews in parables so they wouldn’t understand. He explained the parables to his followers in private. The prophet Daniel predicted the exact date that the Messiah would present himself as king but the Jews didn’t accept him as their Messiah. Because of this, Jesus wept over Jerusalem and pronounced a spiritual blindness over Israel. At this point his mission went from the Jews to the Gentiles. There are over 300 prophecies in the OT that are fulfilled by Jesus.

Are Traditions Important – Holidays

This would depend on what the tradition is and if it would be going against the Bible to follow the tradition in question. There are some traditions that a lot of Christians argue about that I would consider somewhat minor. One of these is worship style in church. There are many churches that get in major splits over style of music. Music style is a tradition. Our grandparents listened to the old hymns probably sung by the pastor with an organ playing the music. Most churches have a church member playing an acoustic guitar or possibly leading a band
